(Rev: 25 November 2021)
Covid-19 remains a particular challenge for us all. We are aware of the the special responsibility that we bear as a housing company at this time. This particularly applies to our relations with our tenants and our employees.
We are monitoring current developments continuously and adapting our actions accordingly. Taking into account the changes of the German Infection Protection Act (Infektionsschutzgesetz IfSG) which came into force on 24 November 2021 the following points guide us during this time:
Our tenant offices are open. Depending on the regulation in the region, the 3-G-rule (vaccinated, cured or tested) is generally applied, unless the 2-G-rule (vaccinated, cured) is prescribted. To communicate as contactlessly as possible our service is of course available by phone, e-mail and TAG Wohnen tenant-app.
We are aware of our special responsibility in dealing with our tenants’ homes and have stepped up our offer of talks for tenants with payment difficulties due to a corona-related loss of income.
Our receivables management teams have always seen themselves as debt advisors and aim to help tenants who are in arrears with their rental payments so that they can continue living in their apartments. They also offer options for paying rental arrears in instalments as well as deferral arrangements during this period and can provide assistance in applying for government assistance.
The 3-G-rule applies to our employees at their workplaces. This means that employees are only allowed access to the office if they have been vaccinated, cured or tested. Those who cannot present a vaccination or a certificate of recovery from a corona disease are only allowed to go to their workplace with a daily negative Corona test certificate. The test must not be older than 24 hours; PCR tests are valid for 48 hours. In addition, the company continues to issue self-tests to employees free of charge. The 3-G-rule not only applies in the office, but also for other workplaces, on company premises and on construction sites.
We have significantly increased the possibility of flexible working, including outside the offices. Unless there are compelling operational reasons, all employees have the opportunity of working from home. Models of alternating or shift work have proven to be particularly effective.
Our company intranet provides information on hygiene and protective measures. We are proud of the degree of prudence and commitment that our employees are showing in this situation. At the same time, they are observing the applicable hygiene rules and thus also protecting our customers.
For us, social commitment in our large residential areas is a matter of course, which is why we have been supporting various active meetings for senior citizens as well as children’s and youth facilities for many years. We are in permanent contact with our social partners to organise help for our tenants and the reopening of the tenant relationship offices. We are also initiating neighbourhood help by arranging for information to be posted.
We are particularly concerned by the fact that precisely those people who are already the most in need stand to suffer the most. Accordingly, we are in contact with various aid organisations and are providing additional help free of any bureaucracy.
We will keep you informed about further developments on our website. Take care of yourself and everyone around you and stay healthy.
