We take our ecological responsibility very seriously. This is why TAG is already implementing its own goals in various business areas. We invest continuously in the maintenance and modernisation of our portfolio. The focus here is on energy and emission-reducing measures in and on buildings, building technology and heating systems, which in recent years have accounted for around 20–30% of our investments in modernisation.
As a long-term property owner, we know that sustainable economic success is closely linked to future-proof and liveable residential neighbourhoods. We therefore invest consistently in the further development and quality of our portfolio. In 2025, TAG invested approx. EUR 145 million in its portfolio in Germany alone, including maintenance expenses. This corresponds to around one third of our rental income and underlines our commitment to combining environmental responsibility with long-term portfolio development.
Green spaces in our neighbourhoods also make an important contribution to climate and environmental protection. In total, we manage around 3 million m² of green spaces in Germany, including some 43,500 m² of areas with high biodiversity and more than 4,300 tenant gardens.
In addition, more than 43,000 trees grow on our properties in Germany, which not only positively influence the quality of stay in the neighbourhood, but also store around 1,040 tonnes of CO2 annually. The amount of CO2 saved in this way corresponds to approx.:
In addition to investing in our property portfolio and maintaining our green spaces, we also take measures within the company itself to conserve resources and reduce emissions. These include prioritising the use of recycled paper and expanding digital document processes to further reduce paper consumption.
Our German office locations are supplied with 100% certified green electricity. We are also gradually converting our vehicle fleet to electric vehicles and increasingly relying on rail rather than cars for business travel. Through the increased use of rail alone, we were able to save around 260,000 kWh of energy and avoid around 78,000 kg of CO₂ in Germany in 2025.
